TAILS Linux: For the Paranoid!
Someone is out to get you! They want to spy on you! Is it the NSA? Well, my paranoid friend, NOW you have an answer! TAILS Linux is a special super secured distro of Linux that will run from a USB Drive. TAILS is built on Debian Linux, and sends it’s web traffic through TOR to anonymize the user’s activities. TAILS Stands for: The Amnesiac Incognito Live System. Shhhhushh! They might hear us! The milestone 1.0 version was released on April 29, 2014.
“Tails is a live operating system, that you can start on almost any computer from a DVD, USB stick, or SD card. It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity, and helps you to:
- use the Internet anonymously and circumvent censorship;
- all connections to the Internet are forced to go through the Tor network;
- leave no trace on the computer you are using unless you ask it explicitly;
- use state-of-the-art cryptographic tools to encrypt your files, emails and instant messaging.”
