Cluelessness on Linux… Do You Believe This?
This is an actual bulletin board message by a person that typed it on ZDnet:
Quote from the post: “Are you saying that this linux can run on a computer without windows underneath it, at all ? As in, without a boot disk, without any drivers, and without any services? That sounds preposterous to me.”
Well, yeah… that’s kinda the point… but in case you think I am misunderstanding his point, check this:
Quote from the post: “Its just not possible that a freeware like the Linux could be extended to the point where it runs the entire computer from start to finish, without using some of the more critical parts of windows. Not possible. I think you need to re-examine your assumptions.”
Yep… he is that clueness… and rather indignantly righteous about it as well. I bring this out not to “diss” this guy, I don’t know him, don’t know his name… but, it does show just what we have yet to do in getting across the benefits of Open Source, and specifically Linux. Yes, you can boot and run a computer ENTIRELY Microsoft free… and do it better, faster, safer, and totally FREE! We HAVE to educate the masses… but… really, this is amazing!
